Sig225 or M&P

Hi, new to the forum and need advice on an upcoming pistol puchase. I have fired many rounds through many different handguns, Ruger Mk1, Ruger Single Six, P22, Browning Buckmark, 9mm Baby Eagle, 9mm Walther P99, .40 H&k USP, a few Springfield 1911's in .45, never shot a gun I didn't like. Looking at a used Sig 225 at a local shop for $425 or a new Smith and Wesson M&P for $485 both in 9mm. Going to see use on the nightstand and possibly for carry. I liked the way the Sig felt in my hand better, put the M&P does have changable grips and a higher mag capacity... Any opinions or advice on these guns or another pistol I have overlooked would be greatly appreciated. I held a Glock and an XD and didn't care for the grips. Thanks in advance.

I have the M&P9 and the M&P9c and love them both. The compact has become my carry/nightstand gun. I have three different holster for it and an XML rail light for it. The advantages of the M&P are, black stainless steel slide, Interchangeable back straps, loaded chamber indicator, high capacity, low felt recoil, excellent trigger, American made, S&W lifetime warranty.
Some will tell you it does not have a long track record yet but all it need is time for that, that complaint if kind of reaching the bottom of the barrel. True mags are not cheap for them but that too will change in time. Desantis already has a full line of holsters for both the M&P and the M&Pc from IWB and OWB to shoulder rigs. You can even get night sights for them.

I'd choose the M&P simply because it has a consistent trigger action, unlike the clumsy DA/SA of the SIG.
