Hi
I am wanting a reliable .380 for when the Glock27 is not an option. I have narrowed it down to the Bersa Thunder or the Kel Tec. Which would you choose? Thanks.

Hi

Both guns are good for pocket carry. I perfer the K-T 3AT because it just disappears in your pocket. Plus I get a charge out of shooting the little sucker. I have one on me at all times. When I leave the house I got my old .45 and my 3AT. The Bersa is a good gun from what I here I just never have shot one. Good luck on your choice.
I'll counter that with the Thunder 380, but make sure you get the CC version. I have the regular version and it is a painful gun to carry IWB. The CC version is smaller and completely dehorned. But it is one accurate little sucker without being a tough gun on the range. It is larger than the Kel-Tec, but it will also disappear in a pocket (and is easier to find if you need it ;) )
I went with the Keltec 32 because its easier to shoot. I could shoot it all day long (if I could afford the ammo). The Keltec 380 will kick like a mule.
For comfort, the Bersa is more comfortable - but it also is bigger.
Have a new Kel-Tec P-3AT , so easy to carry , 200 rds without a problem and the price is right. Got a pocket holster from www.elitesurvival.com , works great . Not a range gun , but a great mousegun. Rem Golden Sabers 102gr jhp feed real nice. Thanks Frank
My vote goes for the Berssa thunder, have not had any type of problem with mine. I've heard a lot of bad thiongs about the Keltec's, but that is just hearsay, since I have not shot a Keltec.
I've got two Bersa 380's (a Thunder and the CC model) and a P3AT. If you want the smallest, easiest to conceal pistol, get the K-T. Otherwise, I'd go with the Bersa and if you can find one, the CC model if you're looking for a gun easier to conceal.
Something to think about; have you considered the K-T PF-9, a single stack 9mm. It's almost exactly the same size as the T-380, only in 9mm vs. 380 for the Bersa. It's essentially a single stack (and slimmer) version of K-T's P-11. It just might be what you're looking for.
The Thunder 380 and the P-3AT usually cost about the same ($220/$240), while the Bersa CC and PF-9 are a bit more expensive ($240/$280). The price will vary depending on where you live, with some places being more and others less, but these are "average" prices in most areas of the country.
I'd personally wait on that PF-9. It still has a lot of bugs to work out. I've been looking at that for a while but in reading about it on the KTOG forum it has many problems.
Sucklead said it best. The back strap pokes you in the gut all day. It was literally more comfortable to carry my .45 (not 1911 of course seeing as it's back strap looks like a damn spear)
But I'd trust the Bersa .380(not any other Bersa) over any Kel-tec. Quote me at that.
Goodluck
I have both and shoot both. The Bersa is easier to shoot, but the KT is much smaller. The Bersa is not a pocket gun unless you have big pockets. Have had no trouble with either of them. I don't carry the Bersa much because I have other guns that are just as easy to carry that are more powerful. The KT is with me all the time, even when my principal carry is something else.
If I could only have one, it would probably be the Bersa because the KT is a hand full, but not punishing. The Bersa is very easy to shoot.
