I always use a little oil or Hoppes#9 on it. I only use mine at the range.
I broke down and bought a boresnake for my PS90. Used it the first time yesterday. Was surprised that I had to yank pretty hard to get it thru, but it works well.
The instructions make no mention of lube/oil. But, I put a bit of breakfree on the "brush" part. I assume that is the way to do it, right?

Be sure to clean and lubricate. And not just the bore. A clean and properly oiled rifle is a happy rifle.
Yea, I know. I clean my guns very well. I just thought I'd try it because the 1 time I tried the brush and rod, the rod had some flex in it if I held it by the end handle. Thought I'd try this. Cleaned it very well in just 1 pass.
I still take care of the rest of it.
I always put some Blue Wonder gel on my bore snake. Don't forget to soak the bore snake every so often to get the nasties off. I'll tell you, I bought an Otis kit the other day for my rifle and I think I like their system a little better. It isn't a "brush and patch in one," but I think it did a better job.
wow, I've been gone for a while. so you finally got the PS90 you've been waiting for, congrats. I'll have to find that thread, I'm sure you told everyone about it already.
I use them only on my shot gun. I guess I'm to set in my ways to change the way I clean.
