I picked up a HP22 at a sheriff's auction last weekend. Taking my carry permit text next weekend and wanted to get used to shooting it before the test. Put about 60-70 rounds through it today at the range, and it kept misfiring. I think I have found out the problems, but not how to fix it. If I pull the slide/hammer back, I may have to pull the trigger 3-4 times before it fires. but if i manually cock the hammer, it will fire perfect. I'm thinking its the recoil spring. and I have ordered new springs off their website (6 bucks for a 5 pack) I really want to get it fixed, and if I can't I'll use my 9mm for the test, but its cheaper to use the 22. any suggestions? is the spring the problem?
Ammo is target grade 40 grain solid 1200fps. It was the 325 round box from federal. But I don't think its a mag or ammo issue. the mag is new too
