    Compact 9mm with recoil

I'm looking to buy a 9mm for the range, home defense, and concealed carry. Since this is mainly for recreation, I want it to be fun to shoot, so want something with a little more kick. I was almost sold on the M&P 9c, and still considering it but there isn't a lot of recoil on this gun. Only reason I'm not going for the M&P 40c is cost of ammunition. Do you guys think there are some options for my purposes in 9mm?

Check out the LC9 or LC9s. Slim enough to easily conceal but pretty snappy. The trigger is long and heavy but once you get used to it it is very manageable and decently accurate. I put a Hogue grip sleeve on mine for more purchase and bought the 9-round magazines for range use.

Thanks I'll definitely look into it and see if I can rent one.

Anyone have an opinion on the Sig P250?

I'd look at the Sig P320 in 9mm.

I had a P250 in .40. It was the smoothest shooting .40 I've ever seen.

Have to ask. Why are you set on getting something with a fair amount of recoil? Mind you, I am not recoil sensitive so that is not why I ask. It just seems to be a rather unusual question so it is mostly out of curiosity that I ask.

Did a little research and looks like something I'd be interested in. Now if I can just find a place to rent one. Thanks for the suggestion.

BigCityChief- Good to hear. When you say smoothest shooting do you mean the trigger, not a lot of recoil, accuracy?

Southernboy- I just have more fun shooting snappier pistols, which are usually a higher caliber than 9mm. When I'm shooting a gun with low recoil it almost gives the feel of a lower caliber pistol. I guess thats the best way I can put it.

My experience is just the opposite. That's why I do not and most likely will not own a pistol in 40 Cal. The ones I've shot were too snappy for me to enjoy. I'll stick wth my 9s and 45s.

Ruger Alaskan 454 Casull short barrel or 500 S&W Magnum non ported both running full power loads should give you a thrill. I once owned a Model 29 44 magnum and with full power loads found it to be quite a handful, enough for me to have to Loctite it's screws. I likewise heard that the DB9 from Diamondback is a tad bit snappy, but don't use +p.
