Beretta has been in business in Gardone since the mid-1600s.
Your semi-auto pistol could've been made at any time since then.
Need more information
Mig, Gardone is a city in Italy. The Beretta HQ and factory is there. All the 'old' Berettas were made there.
From my reading, Beretta started making semi-automatic pistols in 7.65mm (or .32 ACP or Auto) in the second decade of the past Century. However, they have made several different 7.65mm pistols since then. I think the last one they designed and sold was in the 1970s or so.
The stamps with the stars and wings and such are more than likely 'proof marks', meaning they were test fired and didn't blow up; so they're 'safe' to use. Just exactly what they mean - which can include years of manufacture - are more difficult and they really need to be seen to be deciphered. Perhaps if you can post some pictures? Also, a picture of the entire pistol would help to identify it.
It night be one of the following:
Models 81 and 82 Cheetah
Look up the individual models on the web and see what yours looks like. They all have good reputations as pistols. Wish I had one!
No! Lousy, cheap imports. Sell it to me and be rid of the dang thing!
