My buddies carry gun is a 3" ultra CDP and it is a really nice piece. It's reliable, accurate and light.
...well last week I was to take delivery of a new S.A. 3" 1911-A1 Microcompact. But my FFL contacted all his sources and was told it could be 3-6 months before they could get him one. Soooooo, I'm now the proud father of a brand spankin' new bouncing baby 3" Kimber Ultra CDP II. I feel like a kid at Christmas. Two months ago I had no handguns. This one's my fourth and will be my personal carry gun after I get my CC permit. I've ordered a Galco Concealed Carry Paddle Holster in Havanna color (sort of cordovan). One nice feature of the holster is it can be easily converted to cross draw which would be easier to access with a jacket on.
Anyway, just thought I share my pride and good news with ya's. My next gun will take some saving to acquire. It will be my first "high end" (i.e. Ed Brown, Wilson, Les Baer, Nighthawk, etc.) 1911. I'm beginning my extensive info. search to determine which one I want. But that's another thread entirely. However, I would entertain suggestions, especially from those who own more than one. Thanks.![]()
