...Looking at Springfield Armory Mini-Compact, Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II,
Para Slim Hawg and leaning toward the S.A. (beautiful gun). Anyone recommend any others? Why that particular model? Thanks for helping me decide.

Charlie,

Yeah, the Defender is another I've thought about.

2400,

I'm really looking forward to hearing how you like the S.A.

Thanks to both of you and anyone else for your responses. I'm having kind of a tough time with a choice since the gun must be reliable and it'll be used for a CCW.

I dont want to start a flame war but "I" would stay away from the alloy(read aluminum) frames.Ive heard too much bad about them cracking, getting gouged in the ramp by mags, etc. They're probably ok but I went with the all stainless eclipse ultra to avoid that stuff and (so far) mine has been super reliable. It is a little heavier but thats a choice you'll have to make.just compare before ya buy...

We went shooting today and put 550 rounds through the 3" Springfield. I ran 230gr WW ball ammo, 230gr LRN, Federal Hydrashocks, Gold Dots and some other stuff through it. It worked perfectly and had no problems at all no matter what combo of ammo was in the mag. I shot it sideways, upside down, rapid fire, slow fire looks to be a good little gun.

If it was me I would take a good look at the Springfield 1st. I think they got their act together on that one. I know four guys who have bought them in the last year. They all sing praises about it. Good Luck.
