    Taurus pt138 380

I have the opportunity to buy a taurus 380 for my wife to carry. Looking for some input on whether it's a good carry pistol for her. She shot my keltec p11 and enjoyed it. I can get the 380 for $250. Just wondering if that was a good deal. Any input is appreciated.

The only way to tell if a pistol suits your wife is to let her choose it, preferably after shooting at least 50 rounds through it.
Taurus has a reputation for bad quality control. The Taurus gun you buy may be a winner, but it seems as if 50% of them are losers. Further, Taurus doesn't do a sterling job of make-good.

Thanks for your input. I have tried to get her to pick out a gun that fits her but I get the excuse "you know more bout them than I do you pick". I will keep trying.

I own a Taurus TCP, and while I will say that I have never had and problems with it (I do shoot it weekly on the range), it is doubtful that I would buy another Taurus simply because it is unlikely that I would get lucky and get two good guns in a row from them.

+1......I don't own a Taurus for a very good reason. They can be a crap-shoot at times.

Great find for $250, they are going for 350 on many websites. My brother just bought one for $220. Don't listen to the taurus haters, TCP is American made and fantastic

Just bought the Taurus TCP .380 new for $239.99 3 days ago. Taurus quality was bad for a while, but they have improved 100%. This new gun is fantastic! It is also made in the USA now and not Brazil. They also come with a Lifetime warrantee that stays with the gun. I've heard that their customer service is not what it should be, but my only problem in the past was getting someone on the line that spoke good english. I had to ask to talk to another rep that I could understand. Good luck with your purchase. I hope you will be as happy as I am.
