Use by SWAT and the military, a laser often means, if the dot is on you, you are dead. How ever in civilian hands it more often means somebody is to lazy to learn how to properly use there pistol and thinks the laser is a short cut to hitting the target. It never works this way, often the shooters groups get worse. With proper training and a lot of practice a laser is a very good tool in low light conditions, as a crutch to not being able to use your sight properly it is near worthless. For those willing to learn how to properly use one the grip activated system is to my thinking better. If in a 'I'm really in trouble here' situation you do not need to take time to push a button or flip a switch to turn it on.

I don't think it says anything.......I have a laser on one of my firearms, but that's because it came with it............it would probably increase the fear factor, I would think....mine is optional activation.

I like them on my carry weapon so I can point and shoot without needing to get my arm and hand up to eye level.

For the record my BG380 laser hardly works during the day and the reason I opted for a BG380 was the sight picture. The laser sights I could care less about.

If you have an expensive laser system, they are worth having, but I'm talking like the $500 range kind

I too think it says: Nothing.
I have them on all my small carry guns.
They help me make sure where I'm aiming.
And, YES, I train with the normal sights. Lasers are an added tool.
I do hope they may invoke some fear if the red dot is on target......

I have Laser Grips on my Defender. For those that don't know, it is activated by your finger just under the trigger guard. It is very easy to activate by just increasing your grip with your middle finger. Lasers are a very nice additional way to aim and they are not useless in daylight. I can see mine on most surfaces in the bright Texas sun at least out to 40 ft., and much further at night or on dark objects.

I have one on my LCP as the sights are a joke. With the laser sight I'm able to easily hit a 3" circle at 50' and for me, it makes the mouse gun a little more serious, I also wonder about the "hype" that Hollywood has given the laser. I don't know and I really don't care to find out, but I do wonder.

To me? It says nothing. They are a tool.
