How many Guns do you wish you still had???

I think about all the guns I've sold or traded and wish I still had, makes me sad. There are a few I'm glad I got rid of but I plan on not letting any of the guns I have now leave me. If I had to do it all over again I would have one hell of a collection. I'm at the age now that I can afford to spend 1k every two months on guns. We are house shopping and I plan on getting an out building for reloading and putting heat and A/C out there. Spend 1k on new reloading stuff and a nice safe for the house. These costs will not come out of my gun purchasing. Hope to have this done in a month. I think about all the guns of my past and would die to have a few of them back. I miss the most was a S&W 41mag, superredhawk 44mag scoped, AMT 30 cal, Dan and Wesson set with four barrells. Delta 10mm tears are coming to my eye have to leave now.

Sorry for your lose.... I feel the same way. But I like your plan that ya have with your reload shop & a grand a month for guns is a nice buget to have... way to go !
I only regret one rifle I sold... a winchester lever gun .... dang it !!! I've been lucky enough to keep most of my guns... but I still NEED more ... :smt077

If you have a good collection and you're building a house and sinking in all that money for a shop, DEFINATELY, look into having one of the rooms built into a vault...literally built into a vault, not just a vault built into it, although you could do that too....and you may already have :)

Yep. I have sold many, many guns over the years. I figured once I have gone through more than 120 handguns over the past 12 years. Most I don't care that much about, mostly because I am more pleased with my current collection than another group of guns I have ever had.
I do miss my S&W 3906, and 5903, Para Ordnance p12, Beretta 92f and 9000s.

If you have gone broke as many times as I have you have sold too many handguns to list. Regards, Richard :D

A Colt New Service. I bought this gun as a kid in 1954 in .45 Colt. Later, about 1960, I had the gun customized: rebuilt to .44 Special, adjustable sights added, deep high polished blue, all lettering filled in with gold, custom walnut stocks.

Suffered a broken mainspring and put it in the shop for repair. The shop was broken into and my gun, along with others, was stolen.

All other guns I've swapped for the better, so don't miss them so much.

A nickel Series 70 Government Model, which I stupidly traded for a SIG P226. The gun rags proclaimed the P226 "the world's finest fighting handgun" at the time, which is pretty hilarious in retrospect. Anyway, I bought into the hype and traded a great gun for a mediocre one. Live and learn.

I traded an AR15A2 for a (admittedly very, very nice) 1903 Springfield. Less than a year later, the AW ban was passed and I couldn't replace the AR without spending $1500. That was depressing.

Other than that, no real regrets.

There was not so much information when I began to study handguns as now. Gun magazines were few, actually, non-existant, and there was not Internet forums. So, the only way I could learn about guns was to buy them and shoot them. While I tried to buy only interesting guns, ended up with some that did not fit my niche.

In looking back at my records, I've been through over fifty handguns over the years. I've kept the most interesting, however.

Oh man...so many mistakes.....so little time. A couple that stand out:

A mint Colt Agent I sold outright to finance another project

A Browning HP with sweet trigger job I traded for a glock 19:smt017

I had a mini-14 I had to give back to a friend. Broke my heart too because I was getting so attatched to it.

I had a Dan Wesson model 15-2 that I wish I had never gotten rid of. But, at that time, it was better to sell it. Fortunately, it wasn't the full kit with all of the interchangeable barrels and it is replaceable.
