I've been doing a lot of shopping around for a pistol that I can use for concealed carry. So far, i've narrowed my choices down between the Glock 19 and the Smith and Wesson M&P 9. Although I have heard from many different people that the Glock is a good pistol and the same with the M&P 9. If I had the money, believe me I would purchase both. So my question to all those who own Glocks, M&P 9's or both, which would be a better fit for concealed carry??? Any advice would help. Thanks.
Having owned both, they are about equal in terms of "better fit for concealed carry". I think the M&P is a little better with the addition of the APEX trigger kits than a Glock with "X" trigger work. I also like the ergonomics of the M&P better as well as the steel bodied magazines.
Both are fine weapons, have you had the opportunity to shoot both? Many gun ranges rent guns to test. If not, I would buy the one that feels best in your hand.
The M&P has the 3 interchangeable back straps, so it just might win. Even as a die hard Glock man, I have to admit, I love the M&P.
If I didn't have so much wrapped up in my Glock 30, I would probably have started carrying my M&P full time by now. With multiple holsters, night sights, and laser, I just have too much invested in my Glock to abandon it.
I had a Glock 23 hated the trigger, had an upgraded one installed was better but soon learned I just hated the pistol period, both are available in sizes that work for CC so go with the one you shoot best and are most comfortable with....

M&P is a pretty good pistol as well tho you cant go wrong with either one
But allow me to sway you towards the Glock... Glock is probably the easiest handgun to customize and repair0 in terms of the wide range of products available for glock. 33 rd magazines, sights, lasers, theres a lot of shit you can do to trick out your Glock or god forbid if you need replacement parts (which you prob wont ever need) glock parts are very easy to find.
And with the wide variety of law enforcement officers that carry them cant argue with reliablity after over 20 years of service
I do not care for the grip angle of a Glock.
I still own one, but have traded the others off.
I love my S&W M&P Pro.

I compete with it & it is a real good shooter.
And it feels great in my hand ... a very natural pointer from my draw for me.

Thanks for all the responses......I have shot both weapons in the past few days and I must say that I was very comfortable with the M&P. The Glock did shoot pretty good, but the grip was a bit of a problem for me. I'm not sure. I'll post here in the next few days my choice. Again, thanks for all the help and advice....its really appreciated.
