    ParaLDA9

I have purchased a CWX79R (Para Carry 9). While doing research on this gun I have noted conflicting info about if. The factory box reads 7rd/alloy. Now the various sites, even Para, have this gun at 24oz/30oz/7rdmag/8rd mag. I've put 7 in the mag, bit did not want to jam it up trying to fit 8 into it.
So what do I have----24oz? 30oz? 7rd? or 8rd? Para's site does not list a 7rd mag at all for the CWX79R, but there site shows the gun as CWX89RK????????????????

If my memoery serves me right, you get one extra round in a 9mm gun than a .45. In a .45 you can get 7 in a mag in a compact so 8rs of 9mm sounds right for the Carry 9. 24oz also sounds right for an aluminum framed 3", compact frame 1911.

CWX89RK does not appear on Para's listing when searching by product code and a Google search for the number turned up squat.

Sorry, that doesn't really explain why my gun comes up with conflicting descriptions. And its CWX79R not CWX89R Semper FI

I know what gun you have I am not seeing any listing for CWX89RK on Para's website contrary to your previous post below...

When I look at thedescription for your gun on Para's website, I see no conflicting information. Where are you finding this alternate info?

Also, keep in mind that the website only has current model info, Para's guns have undergone some subtle changes over the years and the "K" suffix may denote a newer revision gun.

OOPS, I see I did put an 89 in the last set of numbers. I'm bad. I meant to show that they added the "K" to the CWX79R. Anywhooo, I think I've found what the deal is. I think 79R is a 7rd gun and the newer 79RK is an 8rd gun with different sights. I have no idea why Para doesn't officer the 7rd mag on their site, but I've seen it on others. I've even seen a 10rd after market mag. As far as the weight goes, both 79&89 are 24oz. The 30oz gun may be the stainless steel slide option Para made for a very short time, and various sites are using that weight in their adds by mistake. My gun is used, so today I'm gonna put various types of rounds through it. I had a LDA45 an it was a POS. Mostly FFT, even after 2 trips to Para. Got rid if it and lost alot of $ on that deal. Not into the 9 anywhere near what I was with the 45, so if it turns out to be the same piece of crap, I won't be crying too much. Wish me luck and sorry about my clerical error.

Make sure to try different mags or mag springs, I've had four Paras and never had issue with any, but by all accounts the mag springs are crap. I did replace all of mine upon purchase. Wilson is now marketing 9mm mags for the Officers frame 1911s and those may be a God-send. Not sure how Paras single stack mags...stack up.
