    Sir,
If you can merely carry on a decent conversation, regardless of what you know about one-hand firearms now, welcome to this spot. This is a good place for those who know little or nothing about guns or shooting.

Any ignorance you may now have won't last.

I'm making an assumption that you will be carrying concealed. That being said. Have you considered the USP Compact. The USP fullsize is a chunk of a handgun to hide, as is the 220 & XD IMHO. I'm 185# 5'10" so those big guns are difficult for me to make dissappear.

Bob, my ignorance is *highly* resistant. I've been 'let to water' hundreds of times - mostly I get confused and start turning over the rocks.

    Lightbulb Nun of them..

If you are going to carry, and you want a 45 get something with a slim build. There's a bunch of Colt repo's out there that conceal easy and are dependible. With a good holster you forget about having them on.

All the guns you listed are full-sized guns. A more compact model might be better for every day carry, like the HK USP Compact mentioned, or a Kahr P45, a Sig P245 (now discontinued, but still available), a compact 1911 (Springfield, Para-Ordnance, Kimber), a Glock compact or a Smith & Wesson.

Of the three guns you listed, the Sig P220 is the best in my opinion from a quality and shootability standpoint.

The full-size HK is a fine gun, but it's a little too large for me. The XD45 is also a good gun, and the lightest of the three.

Of your choices the Sig 220 is the best in my opinion!

It's a little late for this but the S&W 4513TSW would be a sweet CCW. Very light, beautifully made, easily concealable, and I can only speak hypothetically but everything but I've been able to read about it was very positive. It's on my "dream list".
