Help me choose
I am looking for a concealed carry piece that I can pocket carry. I have looked at revolvers and semi-autos. On the revolver side I like the Taurus model 85. I am less sure about the semi-auto options. My needs are:
Small enough for pocket carry
9 mm minimum
$325 max. street price
Single stack magazine preferred
Which semi do you suggest?
Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
Kahr PM-9 is about the only 9mm (besides a Rohrbach) that might be OK for pocket carry, unless you have really big pockets. I tried one for a while, but I wear mostly blue jeans, and it printed through badly. It also chewed up my knuckle because my hand was too big for it.
I was sold on the idea of pocket carry for a while, and settled for a .380 in the LCP, but I finally went to IWB, mostly, because I can carry a decent SD pistol that way. Chances are that you will eventually come to the same conclusions, but I understand that you will have to see for yourself.
The Taurus is a crap shoot. It may be perfect and last a hundred years, or it may break tomorrow and spend most of it's 'life' in transit between you and the factory.
For pocket carry I carry a Ruger LCP in .380 (9mm short).
It truely is a pocket carry gun .. in size
I carry it in a DeSantis Nemesis holster in my front pocket.
It cost around $300 and i hardly know it in there.
I just bought a Kel-Tec P11 in 9mm - $300 - 13 rounds 9 mm
Like my LCP - I carry it in a DeSantis Nemesis holster in my front pocket.
