I would like to stay under 700$ but sigs run a little more than that.

Some Sigs are under $700... the Sig sp2022 is a very nice gun, if you like the Sig SA/DA trigger. The 2022 has a polymer frame instead of the standard aluminum that the majority of the Sig lineup features. The 2022's grip is a little on the thick side when compared to its p226/228/229 counterparts, but if you have average to large hands it may be a nice fit for you.

The Sig sp2022 is available in both 9mm and .40

Do your research. Certain weapons are better for CCW. If possible, get hands on at a gun store. Shop around, but see how each fits and feels in your hand, how easy the controls are to operate.

As far as recommendations, in your price range, I have the Sig SP2022 9mm and the Springfield XDM 3.8 40 S&W and I am very happy with both. I'm considering another XDM.
The SP2022 can be difficult to find, especially in the .40 S&W; Sig is pushing the 250.

Check out the Stoeger Cougar. Stoeger Industries is a subsidiary of Beretta. The Stoeger Cougars are made in Turkey using the same machinery that Beretta used to make the original Cougars. It is every bit the quality of the Beretta.
