For years I carried revolver, I own now a Ruger SP101, .38/.357, with 2.25" barrel.
Great gun, but I think is time to get more fire power.I was looking at a 9mm but my brother(he is a LEO)tells me to get a .40 because his dept went from 9mm to 40 because the liability.
I have the problem that I'm not young and I have a problem with the muscles in my right arm, and I want somebody with experience to tell me if a .40 caliper is similar to a.38+P in recoil or worse, taking in consideration that sub or compact guns the mayority are light with a short barrel.
My SP is built like a tank and heavy, eats the .38+P like nothing.
Thanks in advance
