I'm gonna' do it.
Yeah, I know I'm an idiot for doing it, but..............I've done worse. I'm going to the San Antonio gun show this weekend and buy an AR15 stripped lower receiver to build an AR pistol. It's just something I've been wanting to do a long time. There is no good reason to do it except for fun. I'm gonna' progress very slowly so I probably won't have it finished 'till close to the end of the year. I've been accumulating a great deal of infromation in this project and can't wait to get started. Any advice, comments, etc.? :smt119 :smt119 :smt119 :smt119

Make sure to keep us updated with photos and information.
Good luck!

I'd like the finished product to look something like this except I am building it in .223 not the 9mm shown in the pic.

I'm planning to keep a digital photo record all the way through. Glad you brought it up. I'll probably start this weekend at the table where I buy the receiver.

Maybe you should just buy that new Keltec pistol. Under $500 or so, I think. And pretty much what you wanted.

I thought about that briefly but I really wanted to build one. Also, at some point, I might convert it back to a rifle and put a different upper on it (maybe a .458 SCOOM). I like tinkering and building. Keeps me out of trouble with all these women at my house. I do it in the garage and if they come out and mess with me, I just fire up one of my cigars and they all leave. :-D

Sounds like a very worth while project!!! Keep us updated!!!

I'll post pics as things progress. Don't know what I'll do with it. Shoot paper, hogs, night critters if I can get them close. I guess I could shoot our whitetails or axis, most shots are 60 to 70 yds. or closer and these deer are small. We shoot the exotics year 'round (when we can find them).

Great Idea
Hey Charlie don't leave us in the dark on the how to do it. Sounds like a great project. Good Luck. :-D :-D :-D

Nice sounding little project you have there. I remember when my dad built one of them small rambo style AR15s from just a lower receiver.

Well guys, I've got to find the right deal if I'm gonna' go ahead. My goal is to do this for absolutely no more than $400. I'm gonna' price out the different components while I'm there. I will know for sure after this weekend. If I was gonna' put more money into it I would seriously consider that Kel-Tec. This will be my first so I don't want to sink much into it.
