.32 question

I'm looking for a pocket pistol for those times when I need something more discrete than my 85CH or Thunder 380. I've thought about a .380 mouse gun, but .380 ammo is dang near impossible to find and costs a king's ransom when you can find it. (My BT380 is rarely used these days because I can't find or afford the range ammo I need to stay proficient on it).

Is .32 ammo any easier to come by or less expensive than 380? If so, how do Keltec's, North American Arms', and Beretta's .32 offerings compare to one another? I know .32 isn't quite the threat neutralizer that .38 special is (or even .380), but I figure it's got to be better than a poke in the eye when circumstances don't make it practical to carry a larger weapon.:smt1099

I don't see much difference in .380 vs .32 acp ammo price. .32 trends a little cheaper. I bought a box of .32 acp last week at wal mart-it was 50 rounds of winchester white box for $15. I have a smith&wesson 432pd chambered in .32magnum. Magnum ammo is hard to come by so I picked up a box of 32 acp for the hell of it. I'll be sticking with the LCP until I can ever locate hollowpoint .32 magnum ammo. One thing you've gotta like about .32 is recoil. It's easy to empty the gun quickly with minimal muzzle movement.

the 380 and the 32 is the same size for all practical purposes
so go with the better cartridge
these are not guns that you wil shoot A LOT
sure you shoot a hundred rounds or so at the range to get familiar but then
as a CCW it won't be shot a lot
so cost of ammo difference should not be an issue

I got to play with a Guardian a couple of years ago. Not really any recoil to speak of. I prefer .380, though. I just never counted on ammo being so hard to find. SO you think .32 ammo is easier to come by?

The only ammo I've been completely unable to find is .32 magnum. .380 and .32 is available occasionally at wal mart 1 box at a time. Or you could go to the gun shop and overpay for a few boxes. I can find .32 s&w and .32 long wadcutters and plenty of .32 acp. But why bother w/ those if your gun is chambered for .32 mag? I like .32 magnum. It's just not a priority for ammo companies to make rarer cartridges when everybody and their gay aunt is buying tons of .380 ammo. My friend's wife was fondling my LCP yesterday and was looking at it in a rather lusty manner. She currently has a walther .380.

I can't say enough good things about my Kel-Tec P32. It is 100%reliable, low price, safe to carry with its DA striker fired configuration, and will get the job done as a BUG or deep concealment gun. I never feel underarmed with that little gun. It is very accurate, and because of its locked breach design, its recoil is very manageable (can't be said for its .380 brother). I have very little trouble finding .32acp ammo because it seems that no one buys it, so most times if there is a spot on the shelf for it, they have some in stock. Also I reload, so once I get a good supply of .32 brass, I will rarely be buying store bought ammo. Anyway, I like the KT P32 and carry it always. Very good gun for your money.
