I don't think it's ever been easy to get. There have been a few agencies that adopted it, but other than that it's kind of a flop. IIRC the Pennsylvania State Police decided to go with it, but I don't remember if they ever went forward with it.

I never could understand "why" for it. Looked like someone trying for an answer to what was never a problem to begin with. Smaller than the .45 ACP yes - but not enough to make a significant difference. IMO.
