Ummm no, can't say that I have. Furthermore, if "those numbers" happen to be the serial number, and there are some missing, it's not good...
Has or does anyone own a gun that has been "scratched"? And by scratched I dont mean a mark on the side, but some numbers missing off of it? Maybe it wasn't noticed until after you got it?

Nope, and I wouldn't buy/trade/acquire one that was missing any....unless it was made prior to 1968. Serial numbers on firearms were not required before the GCA of 1968. But just because they weren't required, doesn't mean someone could remove an existing number on a firearm that was made before 1968, that would be a felony.

Scratched as in, filed off?? Yeah if its the serial number, I'd say you have a bit of a problem there...
yikes, I hope you didn't pay a lot of money for the "scratched weapon". In the future, you will be more careful, i hope.
Can't wait to hear the answer to this ?
