That's alright in SC, not in NC. Here in NC it has to be in plain sight, if it is readily accessible and not clearly visible it is considered concealed.

That is still considered a concealed weapon in NC. Doesn't matter if it is unloaded or not, it is out of sight and readily accessible.

Go to handgunlawus.com. It will give you very good info. You are ok in Georgia and I believe Tenn but I do not know about the others. Google up handgun laws and you will find handgun laws in the US by Wikipedia. Another very helpful sight. Gives all of the basic info per state and you can print it out. Good Luck and safe travel.

I absolutely, positively, 100% with a shed of doubt agree!!! As a person not in touch with different state laws, always make a phone call. If not to the state police, to the attorney gen. office. Laws get changed, in a matter of frequency in which we as citizens would make our heads spin. But please do not put your faith in a websites returned results. Always take the extra mile in regards to this. Who knows, who may be updating the info, or when it was updated. Or if it's even correct for that matter. And what's even worse, is that you interpreted the law differently. Always make the call!
