Cool thing..My local club is running an NRA qualification course..I attended the first session and get qualified in two rounds to Marksman..Can't wait till next week to try higher levels and see if I qualify..Will keep posting my earned stripes as I progress..It is the most interesting thing I have done so far in my shooting hobby..I am earning stripes
I still have my classification patches from when I was shooting smallbore three-position in high-school back in the seventies. I've thrown away probably half my body weight in shooting trophies over the years, but the patches I will treasure always.....
Good job Jimmy. How is the mini IDPA thing coming? Have you found any registered IDPA ranges in your area yet?
Hi Tekhead.. Thanks for the compliment.. So far i am participating in the mini IDPA as they are held once a month..I haven't looked around for any IDPA "real" matches..I want to be comfortable with the game before I participate. So far my shooting schedule is booked between my Tuesdays Clay shooting, and Sunday's pin plate and bowling pins shooting, and my once in a month mini IDPA. Now my goal is to finish the NRA handgun qualification to the highest rank I can achieve.
The good thing out of all of these activities, besides the fun and self achievement & satisfaction that I get out of shooting, is that I met alot of very nice people who share the same enthusiasm and interests..I am also joining a priveleged shooting club in the area that only admits members through a rugged sponsorship process..Life is beautiful indeed !!
