a little unsure of what to get

I hate asking these questions, but I haven't been able to come up with anything conclusive while researching, so here goes...

Which .22lr pistol should I try to get?

I plan on purchasing a Glock 19 in a few weeks, and would like something that shoots similar (somewhat anyway), not necessarily in controls, but more so in handling. I've been looking at the Walther P99 and Sig Mosquito mainly, but have heard of some issues with both, primarily feeding issues with the Sig. I'm looking for something that will feed bulk reliably, after break in, and with regular cleaning of course. any suggestions and why?

Lots of people on Glocktalk have many good things to say about the Advantage Arms 22lr conversion slide for Glocks:

Apparently there is a 5+ week waiting period for ordering one direct, but if I wanted to maintain the feel of my carry weapon during 22lr plinking, this is the logical choice.

Unfortunately I have never used it so I really can't provide feedback on it, but of what I can find on the internet, it seems to be a good product.

hmm, i hadnt thought of a conversion kit... i kinda like that idea. how quickly can the conversion be done? all you do is change out the slide and barrel right?

anyone ever used one before?

I'm 90% sure the Mosquito is a conversion kit (or at least can be had as one), same goes for the CZ Kadet. That's what made me think of this one...the only difference being, this conversion kit is not made by the manufacturer.

To the best of my knowledge, it's a slide/barrel/spring swap.

Bought a Browning Buck Mark Camper black/nickel with a 5.5" barrel. I want to say very balanced and comfortable to use.

•CNC Machined 7075-T6 Aluminum Slide. 7075-T6 Aluminum is the strongest of the aluminum alloys and is used throughout the aerospace industry.
•CNC Machined barrel made from either heat treated 416 stainless steel or heat treated 4140 steel, depending upon availability.
•Recoil Spring and Guide Rod.
•One 10-Round Polymer Magazine
•Magazine Loader

Sounds pretty easy it's just the cost - $260 but I suppose you can make that up in ammo costs.

There is no .22lr that is similar to a Glock. Your best bet would be to get the conversion kit as already mentioned. Then you will have something that handles almost exactly like your G19....

get a P226 in 22LR...
then it's easy to convert it to 9mm, .40, or 357 by just a change of the slide and barrel and mags
when you purchase the new slide your total cost is under $1K! thats two sigs for the price of ONE!!!

the P226 "2 step" is only a fraction of the cost of the higher calibers
Its the best bang for your buck!
