    New Magazines

    I've been looking at buying some new magazines. Are there any brands that are better, or worse, than any of the rest? The gun came with a MecGar when it was new, and I've had no troubles. I found a ProMag on Midway, but there a 5 terrible reviews to go along with it, which was the reason for this post. Any thoughts?

    What gun are the magazines for?

    In general, Mec-Gar has a good reputation. If its working for you, why switch?

    PT111 Millenium, 1st generation.

    I'm not necessarily looking to switch. I'm just looking for a good mag for a good price. I've had a little trouble finding a "non-pro" mag with no pinky extension. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot. Any thoughts on where to look?

    Midway lists Taurus brand mags for the PT111 as well as Promag.

    $35 vs. $22

    I have never used Promag but have heard bad things from friends about them.

    That's the best price I've seen yet for a factory mag. Just what I'm looking for. Thanks.

    Nothing wrong with getting a Promag for range use. The resulting feeding problems will be great for practicing malfunction/clearing drills.
