No. The first one I ever saw looked like an oversized Hi-Standard pistol.
The latest one looks like, well, it sort of looks like an automatic pistol.
Don't mean to sound simple, but it doesn't have any odd characteristics. Just a frame, slide, grips. It's all steel, looks almost like a blowback pistol.
AMT, I think.
I am very much aware of the Blackhawk in .30 Carbine. But my query had to do with the autoloader. As I recall, it was a fun shooting little thing and pretty accurate. Never hear much about it, but thought it was either AMT or IMI, or whater combination of letters it was.
As I remember, there was a similar looking .22WMR, and the Company also made a pretty fair M1911A1 model.
But it seems to me a .30 Carbine auto would fit right in between the .22 and the 10mm. Certainly better range and accuracy than 9mm, probably more potent. Yet seldom hear of guns in this range.
Years agp I had the AMT Auto Mag III - 30 Carbine - Stainless. I had thousands of .30 carbine surplus ammo and shot that pistol everday. Loaned it to a friend who was hit head on by a car the next day. Never found the gun. I'd do anything to have it back.
