What a great design. I'd like to see it brought out again. I think Cobra Firearms would be a natural fit for companies nimble enough to make it happen. Other, larger mfg's might then take the hint and bring their own models to market.
Does anyone else think that the Colt 1903 should be updated with modern materials and increased to a 40S&W or maybe 45GAP? I love my little 1903 in 380 but it's heavy enough to be a boat anchor. I know Springfield shrunk a 1911, but a 1903 in 45ACP appeared on the front of a magazine once, someone made it from scratch and it was fantastic. I would like to see a Colt 1903 in 40S&W or 45GAP, frame dimensioned to fit, lighter materials, but keep the barrel long and sleek, and keep it single stack. If it looked "exactly" like a bigger 1903, I think it would be an instant classic. Similar to the Springfield EMP, which I think would be much nicer looking with a little longer government or even commander length slide. Or has someone already done this and forgotten to tell me?

I'd like to see one in 9mm.
You're thinking of the Cylinder and Slide Custom job, that was pretty slick.
