Out of your choices I would like the PX4. Probably would have the best rep for reliability too. Lot of good choices in the high cap 9mm dept. Glock, Walther, M&P, XD, FN, HK, Sig, CZ and so on.
I am wanting to purchase a high capacity 9mm while I still can. Unfortunately, no XDm's are to be found. Based on current inventories locally, I am looking at the following:
Ruger SR9 - $429 and made in the USA
Taurus 24/7 - $369 Support concerns
Beretta PX4 - $569
Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle - $529
I really like the Ruger, and am concerned with customer service with Taurus.
I would appreciate any advice you can give me...

If you can't get the XDm, what about the regular XD?
here is a XDM for $575, I dont know if thats a good price but if it is they will mail it to a dealer near you.

They may be a bit tough to find, but you owe it to yourself to to check out the Walther P99 AS and the FNp9. I own a P99 AS in .40 and it is an unreal gun. The most comfortable grip on earth, great ergo's. I recently fondled the FN and was very, VERY impressed. You should also look at the Glock 17 or 19. You'll either love them or hate them. I don't completely dig the grip angle on my G34, but for some reason I just really like that gun. Good luck.![]()
The XDm is a great gun as well as the PX4. I really like the feel of the xdm better.
With the looming restrictions I don't blame you for wanting to get a STANDARD CAPACITY 9mm.
The ones on your list are not that great. I would suggest going for a Glock 17 or 19, a Beretta 92, a Sig 226 or 229, a S&W 59 series, BHP, CZ 75 or one of the other classics. Mags are usually cheaper and more plentiful and they are classics for a reason, because they work.
if it was me i would get a Glock 19 or a S&W M&P
Buy an M&P for $500, then slap an Arrendondo Mag Extension on the mag ($17)... 23+1... Now THAT'S High capacity...

Ruger SR9.Nice ergonomics.Smooth look.
For poly guns the FNP's are really good. I've shot the 9 and own their brother (Browning Pro-40) and they are really nice guns. I am not a poly gun fan at all but good is good.
A friend of mine used to have a Baby Desert Eagle in .40 that was a really nice gun. He ended up giving it to his father. I was surprised he got rid of it. Really good shooter.
The M&P is a pretty good one too. I don't have near the experience with them I do with others. TOF I think is the HGF resident M&P manBut they seem to me to be a pretty good gun.
