    leaving rounds in a magazine

    i keep my weapons in a gun safe so my kids dont have access. Two of them are semi-automatics. i dont want to keep them loaded but i would like to keep my magazines full. Is there a problem leaving rounds in a magazine for an extended period of time? Will it damage the spring mechanism?

    Springs wear out from repeated compression and decompression. Leaving them simply compressed will not cause damage.

    yeah like the others said, it will be fine. im pretty sure gun manufacturers engineer the springs in clips to be able to withstand being loaded for extended periods.
