    Finally got a Plinker

    I got this S&W 22A for Christmas. It is not much different that the regular 22A other than it comes with the fluted barrel, fiber optic type sights and three mags. Hopefully I will get to shoot it this weekend.

    The local shop had two of them left. They had them for $289. To me the barrel, sights, and extra magazine was worth the difference in cost compared to the $259 for the regular bull barrel 22A.

    I have an operational question. Is your 22A striker fired, or does it have an internal hammer?

    Got to put a few rounds through it today and the sights are way off. Only got about 30 rounds off in between working on the Jeep. I noticed the rear sight was adjusted all the way to the left out of the box. Played with it some and got it pretty close but need to get it on a rest at an indoor range. Other than that it shoots nice. Was using CCI mini mags and it cycled fine. Will no more in a few days after I get more rounds through it. Will post a range report after I get a thorough test.

    With the ammo prices what they are, I find that I shoot half .22 and the other half what ever caliber I have with me at the time. Mostly its .22 and .45 Congrats on your new toy.
