Crystal Ball
Look into the future (some where around tax time) and imagine what gun will be purchased next. This purchase is strictly for pleasure. No intended use, CCW, range etc. Just mearly adding to the collection. Lets put a limit of some where around $1000. Only thing I ask is, I would like it to be fairly accurate, for the times when it does make it to the range. Does not have to be a semi-auto, and could even be a long gun (don't own any).
I will be adding this purchase to these, full size Kimber 1911, a FN FNP-9mm (actually on the way) and a .40 SW sigma.
What do you see?

I am looking forward to a S&W 686 .357 SS model 4" barrel. I have a FNP9 & mosquito 22lr, so a wheel gun will round out the collection. Guns that go boom (.40,.45 or .50) are impressive, I would rather have something that wouldn't take all my weekly lunch money just to hit the range once. :)

The one gaping hole in our collection is a DA .22lr revolver*. I've been on the lookout for a decent Diamondback, but if I can't find one, then I can forsee a new S&W 63 in the near future....
PhilR.
*which is kinda stupid, considering we have seven .22lr semi's, two SA .22's, and one single-shot .22lr handgun.......

Ah, so man wants, so little money.
I have a few holes in the collection I would like to fill. I can see getting a 10/22 to fill that 22 sized hole. I also want to pick up a .357 revolver of some sort. I'm partial to the 686 or one of several Ruger models. It'll probably be whichever I find a deal on first. If ammo prices keep going up, I may grab my first 9mm, just to be able to afford to shoot. :smt082
Maybe I should get a 92FS to match the 96 I have.

I'd like to get another lever action rifle. I think they are a blast to shoot. maybe in 357, I have a Winchester in 30 30 and a Marlin in 44 Rem Mag. That or a pretty nice 22 wheel gun. I'm in the process of building a 10-22 target rifle and just need a good barrel but hope to have it done by then (I hope :smt082) if so then those would be my next choices.

I guess the saying "you can't have too many guns" applies here. Everyone has their wishlist. I think my short list is, no particular brand and in no particular order:
4" 1911
4" .357 revolver
6" .44 mag revolver
Never really thought that much about a smaller caliber for target/plinking, but I guess that would be the cheapest way to go. That was the main reason I bought the 9mm is for inexpensive range time, but I guess a .22 would be really cheap
