Once a lifetime would be too many! I worked in LE in Indiana when I lived there and never had to unholster my weapon. Of course it was a small country burg. Probably different for city LE's though.

Law Enforcement Folks...
How often do you draw your weapon? I was discussing this with my wife last night as we watched TV. Obviously, it makes for interesting television, but the TV shows would have you believe that weapons are drawn quite a bit. I assume that it doesn't happen often. Am I wrong? Would you say that you draw once per month/week? just curious...

Almost everyday. Not always pointing at someone, but clearing buildings, cars, etc as well

More than I care to remember. Sometimes I could go weeks without drawing my sidearm, and sometimes it seemed to happen several times per shift when things were really hopping.
