I'm biased...I have a Ruger P345 and love it. Ruger did something to create recoil reduction, and I really feel it...the gun pushes...almost no snap. Granted this is with standard pressure ammo (I've never shot +P ammo in it). Factory mags run about $30 each, which is kind of pricey for single-stack mags. Also, a 45 bullet won't shrink, but a 40 bullet might not expand...
I've looked at and handled a PX4, and I really just don't like the design of the safety levers (too sharp). Also, I don't like how flat the sides of the grip feel (I have fleshy hands). So, my solution was to get a Stoeger Cougar in 9mm (grip similar to a Beretta M92, but even better) that also has the rotating barrel action. The only thing I don't like about the Cougar is the 3.6 inch barrel...I wish it had at least a 4 inch barrel (9mm needs velocity).
