Here's the new Anvil Arms registered pistol lower that I just received... I'm going to build the upper myself, I'm waiting on the parts now... 7.5" noveske barrel, Larue 7" Railed Handguard, Noveske Flash Hider. I already have the upper receiver, so it's just waiting for the other parts. I chose a CMT upper receiver. I'll post pics and info as I put things together.

Nice. Any ETA on when it will be finished? A few months ago I really wanted to get an AR pistol, but I am not sure how easy one would be to shoot. I held an RRA and it seemed a little awkward. I still haven't shot one; I am sure after a mag or two, they come into their own.
I am trying to decide now if I should build an AR (rifle) or just spend the $ on ammo for my current one. Decisions, decisions...![]()
I decided to do a pistol build by accident... A buddy of mine ordered 2 AR pistol lowers for him and this other guy... well, the other guy backed out at the last minute and a call was then placed to me. I declined at first, but the seed was planted... and here I am.
I decided to custom build the upper for it. My buddy ordered a completed upper from Rainier Arms and got it last week. We took a trip to an outdoor range last week and was able to shoot it. It was pretty cool, a little awkward at first... It was fun to shoot, that's for sure!
Well, everything is on order... with the exception of the Noveske KX3 Flash Hider, I can't find one in stock anywhere. Hopefully I'll have the Noveske barrel group (7.5" barrel, gas block, gas tube and matched bolt) and LaRue handguard this week sometime.

Yea, Rainer Arms is a great place to deal with. They've always gotten my my orders real quick. When/ If I do an AR build, they are on my short list of places to start.
I'd still like to build an AR pistol some day, just because of the 'bad-assness' factor. I'd like to build a rifle first... dammit, I just want to build something.![]()
Just a suggestion, but I've found that a sling helps with the AR pistols. If you have the length adjusted so that the sling is taut when you have the pistol extended, it helps stabilize the gun. Of course, a bipod off a flat level surface is even better.
And as I'm sure you already know, a good flash hider is a must. Quite a light show without one!
