Is the release not releasing or is it tight in the grip frame?
Try a thourough cleaning of magazine and grip frame then answer the above question..
the release is releasing, example, the mag will drop when full and weighted.
Get a can of Silicone spray at Ace Hardware or similar. Squirt inside the grip frame after thorough cleaning and examination for obvious tight spots. Look the Mag or preferably Mag's over for some sort of ding and spray them also.
Then report back.
PS: I forgot to ask earlier if you had more than 1 Mag and if both were a problem so I'm asking now.
:watching:
thanks, i thoroughly cleaned the whole gun including the mag well. i then put some lubricant on the mags and wiped it around. smooth as silk! thank you for your help. Is this part of a standard cleaning regiment?
It is for me. Be carefull what lubricant you use in the magwell as it could cause an accumulation of fuzz bunnies and jam it up again. The silicone spray I mentioned does not leave a sticky surface. It just makes things slide smoother.
When you say smoothe as silk does that equal problem solved?
problem solved. but i do understand how lube could sttrsct debris. this silicone spray, can it be used in place of oil in general lubrication?
No. I only use the silicone spray for mag's. Rem oil, CLP or other general purpose gun oils will perform the lube duties required within the gun mechanism much better.
I do break my mags down, clean inside and out then spray inside and out with the silicone spray.
You don't need to do it often unless dropping them in the dirt during practice or competition. For most individuals once or twice a year is adequate.
Enjoy.
thanks so much for your help!
I am pleased to be able to help. Pass it on when the opportunity arises for you to help someone else.
