I tried both, and ended up with a Browning Buck Mark. I liked the grip angle, it's the same as my 1911 and CZ 75 B.
The steep grip angle of the Ruger just did not feel right to me.
Both guns a extreamly reliable and not a lot of money to buy and shot.
I have perhaps 3,000 rounds through my Buck Mark to date and have been very happy with it. :smt023

Oh ya, I put set of Fire Sights by Williams Gun Sight on my Buck Mark...

Have both, love both....
Buckmark: pro's -- better trigger, easier to strip as long as you don't mind using an allen wrench. Con's -- only one magazine.
MKIII: pro's -- very solid all-steel feel, two mags, breech area enclosed on one side, so less spitting of burning powder grains when the slide opens. Con's -- trigger not as good (but can be made quite good with aftermarket parts), more complicated stripping routine. I personally don't consider the last one a true con, as you do get used to the stripping routine once you do it a few times.
Accuracy between the two we have seems to be pretty much a dead heat...

If talking new guns the buckmark will be about 40% cheaper than a Ruger.
the ruger is a little hard to strip the first cpl of times, but isnt too bad once you figure it out.
I own a Ruger Mark II bull barrel and think its a great plinker but for the lower price I wouldnt hesitate to get a Buckmark.

I think it would come to which grip angle you prefer.....if no preference.....flip a coin....lol.
Love my Buckmark.
Started out as my cheapest gun... then the Tact Sol barrel, the red-dot scope, the trigger work, then another 2-7 variable scope, and Leopold rings... LOL
This thing is a blast to shoot, drives proverbial tacks, and is easy to strip and clean.

+1 for the Buckmark. I recently broke mine down completely, a first for me with any gun, and was able to put it back together with little problem. I added a 7.5" Trail-Lite barrel from Tactical Solutions and a red dot sight with weaver rail. Shoots great. Shot great out of the box as well. I got tired of shooting it at 25 yards in 2" groups and made the upgrades to now shoot it at 50 yards, currently 4" -5" groups.

I've never held or shot a BuckMark.
My first gun was a Mark I Standard which I purchased in 1976. It got lost in a divorce along with a Ruger Security Six .357mag and a Charter Arms .44 Bulldog while I was stationed overseas. Last year I decided to get another Mark just for old time sake and inexpensive shooting to extend my range time.
I'm real happy with it and agree, until you learn how to strip it and put it back together... it can be frustrating.

I got a Buckark and a Mark III,
Both are nice pistols but U like the Browning a little more. It's mostly a feel thing. I like the way the Buckmark feels just a little more than the Ruger. You can't go wrong with either:smt023
