Lugers...........

I've been seeing some old Lugers (P-08s) in the shops lately. What's the sudden appearance of these? At one time Lugers were a dime a dozen, then disappeared from the shops. I can't remember the last time I saw one until now. One shop has about half dozen, and I've seen a few in pawn shops.

Most of the ones I've seen were old military issue, but have seen a couple of .30 Lugers and one clone from Interarms.

Hard times bringing them out?

O.K. Maybe not a dime a dozen, but $49.95 with 100 rounds of the old iron bullet ammo.

Saw a few in Orlando this week too. Didn't even think of it at the time, but yes, it's the first time I remember seeing them there.

They are a lot bigger in "person" than I'd imagined... First time I've seen one up close!

Maybe somebody is unloading some old stock from a Government buy somewere. I wouldn't mind having one....maybe. What kind of price were they asking if you don't mind me asking?
Don't remember exact prices, but noted they ranged from pricey to about used-gun range. One was in the $800 range, one, I believe, under $500.

I did a little shooting with Lugers many, many years ago. My rememberance in particular was being distracted by that toggle link popping up into my line of sight. That, and being extremely muzzle light.

The 9mm ammunition was WW II surplus, with steel case and iron bullets. They did penetrate!

Now that I think about it, I remember one incident in which a friend of mine brought out a Luger he had inherited from his Dad. As he tried to load it, the cartridges wouldn't chamber. I examined his gun-it was a .30 Luger caliber!
