i am thinking about a small 45 and for size and price all i keep coming up with is the glock 39 in GAP.
Is there another gun that I am missing to consider?

Both Springfield Armory and Rock Island Armory sell small 1911 types.

Charles Daly makes a small 1911 .45. I personally carry a Witness Compact P in .45. Taurus Mil-Pro 145. AMT back-up in .45, Para ordinance PDA in .45 product code CWX645R, Kimber has one, Sig Sauer's C3, Springfield XD compact. Need I go on? IMO for the money, if you're looking for a CCW the Taurus is the best bet. I'm not a 1911 or should I say a single action style fan, but if I were I would go with the Sig or the Para. Although the Para is DAO. Hmmm!! Thanks for the brain jump start!!

Glock 36? That would be my choice in Glocks if I wanted to carry a .45.

I carry the Colt Defender and am completly happy. It's very reliable and very small. There are several on the market as mentioned before and all very good but my Colt is something I rely on daily.

Yes. i think that was it, the PM45. felt real nice in the hand. just awaiting feedback as stated before. the price was around 625 or so. this guy has some good prices so if that is the price range then PM45 it was. i was told it just came out.

all guns mentioned are larger than the g39 except for the kahr pm45
all guns mentioned are more expensive than the g39 except for the g36
if the g36 were to come out in an SF frame then that is probably the one i would buy
