Where to Get Gun Refinished?
Ok, so considering that the general thought is that my Sig's finish may have played some role in the damage she took (found more than a few Sigs from the same year with the same problems as mine and a "rumor" that the Nitron finish wasn't done right, being the first year it was used) I am thinking about getting the finish on the slide redone. Not sending it back to Sig because after the way they spoke to me they won't get another cent of my money.
I was thinking about hard chrome for a nice two tone finish. Who is someone who does this that is trustworthy enough for me to send off the slide for the work? And what can I expect to pay for it? Thanks!
There are lots of guys who do good hard chrome. My preference would be Robar (www.robarguns.com) and the excellent NP3 finish. $110 for just the slide, or $145 for the slide plus internal parts, including the barrel.

I'm sure there are many good metal finishers out there. I only have experience with one: Robar. I've lost track of how many guns I've had him refinish. (Two last year; one in the shop now.) I was one of his first customers. I've got guns that he refinished for me 20+ years ago that look new. He's close to me; I know Robbie personally and he is a great guy and a serious warrior; his product is outstanding.
Thanks guys! I'm going to take a serious look at him. Appreciate the input!
