Thread: I think I found my next, What do you think?

I heard from two local gun shops (impact included) that the early model Revolution 1911s tolerances were to tight from the manufactuer causing excessive jamming. I'm pretty sure sig has fixed this problem however I have never shot one so i cant tell you what i think first hand.

Sure -- the following all make multiple reliable and accurate .45's that are suitable for range or defense use, and are under $1.2k. Take a look at offerings from Springfield, Colt, S&W, Para-Ordnance, and Kimber.

One certainly does not need to spend $1.2k for a reliable and accurate cc weapon (I know I wouldn't), but then again, there's a lot to be said for buying something that brings a smile to your face every time you see/use it.....

Either one would make a fine gun.

The only problem is, you have to break them in very carefully.

So, after you buy the gun, you have to send it to either Charlie or Baldy and let them shoot it for you to break it in.

It should only take a couple of years, then it will be good to go!

You got that right Wondering Man. If that's the pistol you want and can afford by all means get it. Guns that appeal to your eye you will shoot more and become a better shot. Good luck and if you wish to send it to me just drop me a PM.

LOL yeah Baldy can you just PM me the break-in procedure...ha... I have already looked at the kimber and Springers in this price range and I have actually owned a few springers over the years and 2 kimbers. I simply have never had a sig and this wouldn’t be for CC although I may carry it that way at some point. I really want a 1911 with a rail that I can put my Surefire on not because its practical but… well frankly it looks bad ass. I’m not a big fan of Colt or S&W because honestly I think there about the same quality as a springer at a higher cost, I don’t know much about Para but no one around carries them or I would look into one of those as well. Also I can get the Sig’s and HK’s for super cheap through my brother in law, he is an airline Pilot and does the air marshal thing so he gets them at factory cost so that sig will only cost me 500 bucks.
