a little help?

After months of researching, handling, and firing it's time to choose a gun. I thought by this time it would be much simpler. I'm going to buy myself my first handgun for Christmas (can you think of a better gift?) Anyways, I've narrowed it down to 3 models, in a 9mm, simply for cost reasons as i'm sure i'll be going through lots of ammo. The only things i'll be using this gun for are target practice and to carry while hiking on my own personal property. Please give me some feedback as to the 3 i've gotten down to.

CZ-75b
S&W MP
Baby Eagle
(in no particular order)

BTW- I've already chosen my 2nd gun- Kimber 1911 45acp
but I want to get the 9 first for personal reasons

I have had a baby eagle and do have an M&P and they are both great reliable guns. I have never had the CZ but I hear nothing but good about them. You will need to decide on the operating system you prefer. The Baby Eagle and the CZ will have external safety's and are DA/SA while the M&P has a consistent trigger pull and no external safety. All in all you can't go wrong with any of them.

My wife's CZ75B is an excellent pistol, but on the heavy side for carry. The Baby Eagle is basically a CZ copy with a clumsy safety lever and some cosmetic changes. Gun-specific holsters for the Baby Eagle are rarer than the other two guns.

Personally, I'd get the M&P for the lighter weight and consistent trigger pull.

Thank you both for your quick and specific replies. These are exactly the types of opinions i'm looking for. I've actually been leaning towards the M&P and am very surprised to get suggestions towards it (i've seen many anti-S&W reviews). Not to push my luck, but i'd like to add one more to my consideration. Berretta's PX4 Storm. I have neither held nor fired this gun, just read reviews and specifications, but it peaks my interest. I value appreciate your experienced opinions!

I happen to have that one too. It is my current carry gun. Again it is a DA/SA with a normal light rail. The px4 was made with conceal carry in mind, it has no rough edges to snag, easy to hit slide release, and superluminova sights, and very accurate. The DA pull is about 9lbs but is fairly short and smooth. It has the same back strap capabilities as the M&P and same capacity. Good luck with your choice.

If you lost both your M&P and your Px4, and could only buy back one of them... which would it be?
