If you are play MS Flight sim X you are really gonna need some power and that thing is going to get HOT!!!!

I would just make sure that the LT that you get has the highest graphics card. I fly if from my IFR tranning and I don't use any senery and I still run into a bunch of problems. I have a a dual core with a Geforce 7600. (i think that's 256mb)

I'm a MAC guy. I'll be going with a lap top soon.

I've purchased two refurbished Gateway laptops from tigerdirect.com. Tiger sez they are laptops that failed a QC check as they came off the assembly line. Gateway fixes the problem, but can't sell them as new, so sold as refurb'ed. True? Dunno.

I bought a $350 Centrino machine for my daughter 3 years ago and it has performed flawlessly.

They have so pretty good deals. Don't forget - the 4th of July is usually a good time to buy electronics, as everyone has sales.

Get as much as you can afford to spend. The faster, the more ram, the better, especially with this new Windows Vista. Some REALLY high end video specs will help with gaming. If you want to game, cheap is NOT the answer. Same with watching videos.

Well fast and cheap really don't go together. For a "gaming" machine I would think your going to have to spend at least $1200+ to get something you'll be happy with.

I just picked up a refurbished Sony AR670 for $1440. (Original price was $2300)

17" 1080p screen with blu-ray support. 2GB Ram. 2.0 Ghz core 2 duo processor. 320GB HD, Nvidia 8600GT graphics card.

Got it direct from Sony Style.
