    Paying Folks To Fire Em?????!!!!!

    i saw on a news channel last night where some CEOS are being paid millions of dollars to be fired.......!! i'm totally outraged and completely confused... i'm sorry if you don't do your job or perform like you shouild and i happened to be the boss you are gone.. don't let the door hit you on the a$$ on the way out............ they mentioned $24.000.000 to $210.000.000to fire these people!! can someone explain this to me??? i'm just a simple guy.....

    It's called a 'golden paracute' an is the norm for large company CEOs.

    It's a separation package, if you will.

    Not always. It’s the board of directors that make the choice to let a CEO go, it could be for lack of performance or the wrong fit for where the board wants to take the company.

    If I failed that bad in which the company wanted to pay me millions to leave I’m not sure if I could accept it because I have a certain work ethic that I get paid for the good job I do. If I suck then I should not get paid for it.

    When I first started my plumbing career my boss put me in the field too soon and I was not knowledgeable enough to do good work and had too many call backs. I went to my boss and told him so and asked that I continue to work with the journeyman plumbers until I had more knowledge. That made me a better plumber and also gave me respect from the others. Pride is only good to a point.

    When they are elected by the board they negotiate terms and ,stock options and perks for so many years. If the board wants to let a CEO go they have to buy him out. So to get around a lot of legal stuff they give him a bonus and all his other perks which adds up into the millons of dollars. It's the American Way now a days. He's a looser that hits the big time. Go Figure.
