I had to call 911!

I was turning onto my street and saw a guy walking down the street with a jacket, shoes and nothing but his whitey tighties. I did a double take and then pulled into my garage and headed for the phone. I called dispatch and they said they had been looking for him because he walked away from the hospital intoxicated. I went back outside on my phone with dispatch and saw a cruiser and then I waved him to the drunk. The drunk didn’t resist just got into the cruiser. He was probably cold and his frank and beans were probably in his throat looking for warmth.

Weird.

When I worked loss prevention, I've had to call 911 many times for accidents w/ customers or when employees had seizures or something. For shoplifters, we called the non-emergency line.

I got to call 911 for the first time Saturday night. The wife and I were going out to dinner and when we were on the highway, the median was on fire. I'm guessing someone tossed a cigarette out the window and the dry grass went up. The dispatcher already had the call though.

I've called them for road debris. Once for a couch and once for a recliner. I've called them for a grass fire in the median. I've called them to report a drunk driver crashing into the wall.

My first time calling was when I found a missing kid. Now if I am at work I just have my radio but if I'm not I usually just use the dispatch number(unless someone is shot or get in a car wreck of course.)

FUnny - I was a step above mall ninja. I only worked in 1 store, and I got to wear jeans and tennis shows. Didn't have to wear the mall security guy uniform. The mall cops always wanted to come to work for us because we made more money, and it was a better job.

After a couple of "experiences" with their "help," we went out of our way to not ask for their assistance unless they just stumbled into something we were doing...
