Ever Happen to You?
Has anyone here ever had stuff stolen at work, other than their lunch? I just noticed some things missing from my purse, including my pay stub (joke's on them, the check is voided because I use direct deposit). I'll be meeting with a manager tomorrow to file a report, but I am really blowing steam out my ears right now. I already alerted my bank. My wallet was left alone, but just in case.
been sitting here wracking my little brain and i just can't remember anything ever being stolen from me..........
it has to be a really violated feeling to have someone steal your stuff... i'm sorry about it.....
LIFE IS SHORT............
When I worked for Staples way back I'd have things stolen out of my mailbox (we used them as small lockers) and my name badge was stolen and thrown in the trash for about a week. I was a new supervisor and put a little "pressure" on the high school kids, and one of them cracked and told me the culprit was this jerk that was pissed off that I got the job instead of him. Needless to say, he was dealt with.
Once years ago, a guy I worked with had been stealing stuff out of my locker and vehicle. I caught him under the hood of my 68 Chevelle one day (the hood had a little post about 4" long that helped hold it shut) I eased up and slammed the hood on him. The post went right into him, he was still stuck to the hood when the medics and cops showed up.
I think that was when he decided stealing was a bad idea.
Some may this find disgusting....
We used to have a lowlife that would take other peoples lunches, dinners & drinks out of the kitchen/break room fridge. We had a good idea who the rat was but we could never catch him.
Sooooo, our dispatcher made some nice, big "BROWNIES" with big walnuts on top & icing with sprinkles .... and her final ingredient was enough ex lax to "cure" a Bull . The bait was placed in the fridge and soon after was taken and later on that day the culprit revealed himself. Now I know some may say this was dirty pool but the stealing had been going on a very long time & everyone was effected. Until, that is .... the baked goodies were served and then the thieving mysteriously the stealing stopped.

I worked in a grocery store many years ago that catered to shrimp boats. We sold lots of groceries, beer, and magazines you don't typically see on display.
We noticed that some of the magazines seemed "used." I got with the local police chief and was able to get some powder that turns red on human contact.
We caught the guy "red handed" so to speak. He was also red faced and you can imagine red-what elsed.
He was fired.
Never argue with drunks or crazy people.
Before being a probation officer, I spent 5 years working loss prevention. It was my job to catch shoplifters and dishonest employees for a large dept store chain. We actually had quotas, so we had to keep busy.
I've pretty much seen it all during that time. Nothing surprises me anymore. I've literrally caught hundreds of shoplifters.
I once thought someone had managed to lift my badge/ID wallet(bad juju for a cop) and went back to the car to call it in and there it was laying on the seat...........the feeling still sucks so I figure I know sorta how ya feel.
Hope ya catch the slime that did it.
cool!! i loved that story!!!! seems like a good way to smoke out a food theif.................

I filed a report this morning with the manager on duty. We found the pay stub somewhat behind the refrigerator. None of the stuff taken was really valuable and the stub had a check attached but it had "VOID" written on it in big blue letters (I use direct deposit) so it was useless. We figure they'll question the next person who goes to upper management and requests a raise.
