    Yea!!!!

    my water softener died tonight.... and I have extremely hard well water... yea!

    I just spent the last hour under my house where I installed the softener, trying to fix it, but no luck. There's nothing like being in a crawl space in the middle of the night... At least the area where the softener, pressure tank and the other stuff isn't to bad. There's room to sit up and room to work.

    Anyone have any water softener knowledge out there....? It seems to be stuck in mid "regeneration". It goes through a number of steps during the process and it's stuck in the middle of that process. It also will not drain the water out of the tank, so it's filling way past the acceptable level. But I feel pretty sure that's because it's stuck in mid regeneration.

    The next shower is really going to suck...

    I just got off the phone with company that makes the model that I've have, it's still under warranty...thank god. But, since I installed it myself they'll only cover parts...and I'm cool with that. They gave me a short list of things to check out. I'll get on it this afternoon sometime... I need sleep for now.

    Until you get the water softener fixed try some Kirk's Castille soap. It works great in hard water.
