My family always set a plate at the holiday table for those who are away from home to serve America.My mother started setting a plate while I was in Vietnam and we continued to honor those who put us above thier comfort. We do this for all holiday meals as a reminder of the price they are willing to pay and the debt we owe them.

I was hoping to hear about other traditions and how they got started. Maybe want to add to our traditions. These are things that make memories from childhood and make the day even more important.
