If I were there, I'd have to make a judgement call depending on who else was in the area, the general gut feel of wether or not my life was in danger, etc etc.

5 on 1 ain't very good odds, but if they're gonna kill me and someone else, may as well go down fighting!!!!

With their guns already drawn and ready to fire, it would be suicidal to attempt to defend a store. After all, the stores are usually insured for that. I would be seeking cover, if anything. However, after the first shot rang out, they would become fair game to my defense. Kill one or two of them and the rest would probably scurry away. I am not a police officer, nor will I attempt to be. My life, or my family's life gets put on the line and I will defend it/ them.

You life is not worth a few bucks! 98% of the time the perp will go in for the money and get out. If someone is shot or your life is in immediate danger then it is time for action. Try to avoid a shooting situation if at all possible!

I would have thrown my P99 at the guys. It would have hit each one, one by one, and then bounced back into my hand. As it flew back to me, it would have picked up a 20 oz Coke and dropped that off too

Seriously, in recent times, many clerks have been killed. I think in Houston a month or 2 back - clerk does not resist, and gives the cash right away. The thief still killed the clerk. So, ya never know. But w/ a group - if more than 1 is actually armed with a gun, then U are screwed.

I agree that 5:1 odds + perps already have their guns = BAD DEAL, Good luck with that.

HOWEVER!!!! When the shootin' starts OR your life is threatened are you going to die behind cover wishing that it all would stop or are you going to fight for your life and perhaps the lives of others???? Thats my point.

Granted if the BGs are doing a 'grab and go' - let 'em go, its only money they print more every day. BUUTTT the min innocent lives are taken or endangered ................

Is the coughing you hear in a quite theatre really secret coded messages sent by alien abductors?

It might be time for you to go back home and get a little rest, now. It seems the strain of pending fatherhood has become too much for you.

I worked at a convience store at one time. The store policy was the an employee could not carry a gun. We had one of those plastic handles from a windshield washer behind the counter for protection. Anyway, After a couple of months, I got robbed at gunpoint. He came in and went to the beer cooler. when he came to the register, he pulled a gun and demanded the cash. I asked if he wanted the food stamps too. He took it all. The next day I came into work, I was told that because I had more than $50 in the register. That I was fired. When they counted the register after the fact. there was $56 in cash and $47 in food stamps. Anyway, The perp was eventually caught. Later I found out that a week after my robbery, he shot a clerk at a store 2 miles from my store (because he did't give the money fast enough). I would rather be lucky than good any day.

The moral of the story, Let them have the money. You can always get more. But act quickly, maybe they will take it and leave.

I’d never work in a convenience store that wouldn’t allow a gun, at least under the counter. As far as handing it over fast that’s probably the best thing to do. The bad guy is in a hurry, but then may kill you anyway. So, my attitude is if you pull a gun on me, you’re gonna die before or after I hand you the money. I know it’s easy to say. I hope never to be in that position.

Then again you don’t have to hand over the money if you have a gun. I know of a guy that went into a drug store and held up the druggist for drugs at gun point. The druggist quickly handed over one slug to the guys’ chest, it was fatal. Turned out the perps gun was a toy. Oh well.

I agree,but if bad guys don't threaten you,call cops!!!!! If you have a CCW permit this one thing a lawyer will tell. IT SUCKS,BUT COVER YOUR ASS! Sad times we live in. It gets worse for CCW permit holders also.Randall

I'll give my honest answer. I would have hit the floor and hoped for the best. Unless they were about to kill me or someone else there ain't nothin' there worth dieing for! And 5 to 1... you're odds aren't good.
