Thing is, this was illegal when he was "home". Couldn't get a carry permit in DC, let alone carry your sidearm outside of your home.

Well he did pull a revolver on a BG years ago in California. Seems some lowlife was trying to do ill to a lady and Reagan heard the commotion. He retrieved a Single Action Army Revolver and confronted a scared BG who, as I recall, made tracks for other locations.

Having it in the brief case did him no good when he really needed it. If you are going to carry, keep the gun on your person.

Yep, yep, yep. I want it where I can best get to it should the need arise. In my vehicles, that means with the shoulder belt behind the gun's grip (the gun is then openly carried). When not in my vehicles, a belt holster at 3:00 on my strong side with a loose fitting shirt that is not tucked in works best for me.
