403 You do not have permission....

I get that message about every 4 days. Usually I get into Internet properties, change something, and it works. I can get into this web site OK.

I got it yesterday. I couldn't log into this web site. I tried changing everything I could think of. Nothing worked. I gave up.

      This morning, everything works OK.

What gives? Is anyone else running into this problem?

Or am I just "Blessed" that way?

Never had that problem. Sometimes the server is slow, but never that problem. Sorry - since tinkering w/ things in your settings works sometimes, I am afraid it may be an issue on your computer.

Have U tried using other browsers? Firefox or Opera (I use Opera)

Hate to say it, but the problem is in your computer. Server slow down is all I have ever run into here since they got everything changed over. Good luck on fixing the computer.

I forgot to mention that I get the problem message on both computers. One is an old Dell running Windows 95, the other is a HP laptop running Windows XP. Both are using Compuserve as the ISP.

So, I'm beginning to believe the problem may have something to do with Compuserve, since that is the only thing both computers have in common. I think it may be time for a change!

Is there anyone else here using Compuserve?

I think U prev mentioned an issue w. Compuserve, didn't U? If not U, then someone else had a compuserve problem. Probably is compuserve. I didn't realize they were still around. I remember years and years ago in the early 1990s when they were similiar to AOL, as was MSn and some others.

Well you didn't say that before. It's easy. Your not using a Mac.

Do you have any parental control software installed?? If so, check that. While at the hospital the other day, they had a pc for patients to use. I tried to get to one of my gun sites and it blocked it. Other than that, I have heard rumors of CServe being anti-gun. It could very well be your ISP blocking access. However, I don't see why resetting IE properties would make it work. It's also possible you have a virus or some spyware that is affecting things. CCleaner is really good for spyware, as is Ad-Aware. I also use AVG antivirus (free version) and Avast!. In tandem, they seem to work flawlessly.
